Machine Tunnels
Hovercraft-sized tunnels under the whole planet, with access shafts down from the surface.
The main tunnel network runs at Y 0 in three sizes: micro tunnels every 4 chunks (about 24 blocks across), main tunnels every 8 chunks (about 36) and arteries every 16 chunks (about 60).
Access shafts drop from the surface into the network. Circuit boards and cables line the tunnel walls.
